The Anish Healing Centre and Akiing Onji Foundation Inc. are dedicated to providing holistic, culturally grounded support to Indigenous peoples, including Sixties Scoop Survivors, their families, and Descendants. Through traditional healing practices, community gatherings, and advocacy, these organizations help Survivors reconnect with their roots, process intergenerational trauma, and reclaim their cultural identity.


As 2024 grant recipients of the National Sixties Scoop Healing Foundation of Canada(NSSHFC), both Anish Healing Centre and Akiing Onji Foundation Inc. continue to lead impactful programs designed to foster healing, cultural revitalization, and community resilience. Upcoming Events & Gatherings

For many Sixties Scoop Survivors, forced removal from their families and communities caused lasting wounds. Both Anish Healing Centre and Akiing Onji Foundation Inc. provide safe and supportive environments where Survivors can access mental health resources, cultural teachings, and traditional healing practices. Their programs include: 

Sharing Circles & Cultural Gatherings: Connecting Survivors with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members. 

Traditional Healing & Ceremony: Access to sweat lodges, smudging, and land-based healing practices. 

Mental Health & Wellness Support: Culturally safe counseling and trauma-informed care. 

Educational & Reunification Services: Guidance for Survivors reconnecting with their families and communities.
